Buying an HDTV can seem a daunting task. So many May
different types on the market, offering many features different specifications to know exactly where to start can cause headaches. However, it need not be painful. By following the five steps below, you can only buy an HDTV and even pleasurable, until the credit card bill arrives, of course.

1. Check the resolution

If you've done the research on HDTV, you'll know the specification HDTV
covers two resolutions: 720 lines and 1080 lines. So no TV which claims to be
HDTV ready must have a native resolution that is at least 720 lines (which is
the second number usually cited. if the resolution is A x B, B is the number of
lines.) However, the vertical resolution is not necessarily more than 720
HDTV ready TV. The specification requires televisions HDTV is high definition
16:9 signal of support (when the image width is 16 / 9 of his height).
This means that, to show a signal of 720 lines, television must have a
horizontal resolution of at least 1280 pixels (720 divided by 9, then multiply
for 16) a TV with a resolution 768 vertical pixels, you must have a horizontal axis
resolution of 1366 pixels.

In a TV with a native resolution of 1024 x 768, therefore, is technically not
HDTV Ready, despite what you say in the box. An HDTV signal
by the size below the specification of TV high definition to be displayed on the screen.

2. Check connections

In a television to respect Specification HDTV should be
component (analog), DVI or HDMI (digital) inputs. If you only have S-video,
composite video or VGA, is not the same.

The other thing you should do is check the TV you want is good
connections to connect the equipment you already have. For example, I have a
Player progressive scan DVD player with component outputs I want to connect to my
TV, I have a cable box with DVI output. Therefore, you need a TV with two components
and outputs DVI. I could also go for one with component and HDMI and buy a DVI
HDMI adapter. Remember to include the audio connectors from your check if
To connect the TV to a receiver or home theater amplifier.

3. Check the contrast ratio

Overall, more than the contrast ratio, the better. The blacks are black,
whites whiter and colors more clearly defined. This is a crucial difference
but they can tip the decision one way or another if you have two or more televisions
mind.

4. Check the viewing angle

Most of us do not watch TV and directly in front of the box, we sit in a corner it.
LCD TVs in particular have a limited viewing angle. If you sit too far to one side,
you notice that change color and Image becomes much poorer. The best
way to establish this is to go to a store and see for yourself.

5. Be realistic about the size

One of the best things about HDTV is that it seems incredible on the big screen
Televisions. For a signal of high definition television that appears in a 42-inch TV is a wonder indeed. However,
no need to spend thousands of dollars on a TV 42 inches if you have a small
living room or if the TV is designed for a kitchen or home office. There are many
Super HDTV at all in smaller sizes, up 23IN LCD. A television that is too much for the BI
room in its place the will to dominate space and nostalgia, even if it is in itself
gorgeous. Amen – realistic when deciding the size of your new TV should be.
